This year’s National Safe Boating Week is the week of May 17-23, 2014. Always held during the first full week before Memorial Day weekend, Safe Boating Week is designed to remind boaters and their families about staying safe on the water.
A particularly important part of boating safety is the use of life jackets. Almost three-fourths of boating fatalities are the result of drowning. Make sure you and your kids are protected this season!
““Saved By the Jacket” is a call to action. It is also a time to thank the boating community, from the firemen who loan out free life jackets to the marina owners and camp operators who insist that all their customers wear life jackets. Thanks for practicing what we preach. Life jackets save lives. The proof is a real page turner.” -National Safe Boating Council
Don’t forget to stop by Harbortown Marina during National Safe Boating Week – When you purchase our ethanol-free gas or diesel during the week of May 17-23, receive a complimentary gas coupon, key chain, koozie, and safe boating literature. (While supplies last, first come first serve.)
